This programme provides a
- strong focus on ICT and digital skills embedded throughout the programme;
- focus on transversal and cross-sectoral skills;
- new tangible IT skills introduced in the first year building into business intelligence in year three giving learners a solid basis in modern data analysis;
- flexible new way of working e.g. communicating effectively via online communication and working effectively in distributed teams; and
- capstone module drawing together the threads of the programmes with an innovative and entrepreneurial ethos.
This ultimately prepares graduates for the labour market and for progression to further studies if they wish to do so. The programme also addresses the personal development of the individual and their preparation for life as active citizens in democratic societies.

Job Opportunity Potential
The programme places a particular emphasis on digital and transversal skills, improving the graduate’s employability and occupational mobility. In addition, we strive to prepare our graduates to become citizens of the world, autonomous learners, ethically and morally responsible for themselves.
Graduates will have developed self-confidence and ability to work in diverse environments and communicate effectively in variety of contexts in order to prepare them for work within a business support and/or junior management role.
Possible roles for graduates from this programme include HR generalist, business support, business administration, sales support, marketing assistant, business analyst, business development officer, self-employed in entrepreneurship, financial support officer, accounting support officer.
Graduates can also apply for one-year add-on Honours Bachelor degree programmes, in particular the BA Honours in Business in IBAT.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
The entry requirements are:
- Grade O6/H7 or better in 5 Leaving Certificate subjects including English and Mathematics. Or
- Overseas equivalent qualifications
These need to be appropriately aligned with the corresponding QQI standard for a level-7 Business award. If you are presenting with a qualification from overseas, this will be subject to checks. IBAT College Dublin uses a number of comparison systems, such as the NARIC Qualifications Recognition system, to compare and establish equivalency of international academic awards.

- Mature Applicants who are at least 23 years of age on 1st January of the year of admission are deemed to be mature applicants and are not required to meet the normal academic entry levels. A mature applicant must demonstrate their ability to succeed by providing evidence of current and prior learning and work experience, explaining their motivation, and how committed they are to succeeding on the course.
Mature applicants are considered on the basis of their previous studies, both formal and non-formal, and relevant work and life experience. This means you must submit a detailed CV, personal statement outlining your motivation for studying now, 2 work based references and any documentation such as training courses that you completed. This will demonstrate your engagement in learning in different contexts and assuring a more timely decision on your application.
- Applicants seeking Recognition of Prior Learning will be considered for direct entry to Stages 2 & the Award Stage.
- Applicants who possess a Foundation Certificate or QQI-Further Education award /FETAC Level 5/6 award.
