PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

A bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in a relevant field such as:

  • Communication
  • Media Studies
  • Marketing
  • Journalism
  • Public Relations
  • Or a related discipline

 2. Grade Point Average (GPA)
A minimum GPA of 5.0 on a 7-point scale (or equivalent) in the last year of study

 3. English Language Proficiency

  • For applicants whose first language is not English:
  • IELTS: An overall band score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0, or
  • TOEFL iBT: A minimum overall score of 79 with a minimum of 21 in writing, 18 in reading, 12 in listening and 18 in speaking, or
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic): An overall score of 58 with no communication band less than 50, or
  • Equivalent English language qualification as approved by the University

4. Work Experience (Desirable but not mandatory)
Relevant work experience in digital communication, media, or related fields will be considered favourably

5. Portfolio (Optional)
Applicants are encouraged to submit a portfolio of relevant work, which may strengthen their application

6. Special Entry
Applicants who do not meet the above criteria may be considered for special entry based on a combination of academic qualifications, work experience, and other relevant factors
