Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (Honours)
The Honours program is available to high achieving students in the Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine. Honours is a key early step in the path to leadership in the profession and opens up the world of research. The honours program encourages independent learning, develops research skills and provides an opportunity for deeper investigation in the major field of study. An honours program is a recognised preparation and entry point for postgraduate research studies and the research training is valuable preparation for careers in research and development and analysis in the public and private sectors. Students apply for entry into the Honours program in year 3 of their degree and begin advanced research training in the latter half of year 3. Clinical placements and an honours thesis are completed during the fourth year of the program. The thesis presents research that addresses real podiatric problems and education across the lifespan. This research will be conducted under the supervision of experienced academic researchers/

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
?Admission to our undergraduate degree programs usually requires successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification similar to the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the highest educational award in New South Wales schools.
Undergraduate admissions: Students are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0 or equivalent. Students should have completed at least one year of full time study at a university or other institution of higher education.
