Advanced Diploma of Information Technology
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles who have significant experience in specialist technical skills, or managerial business and people management skills. Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field, working independently, leading a team or a strategic direction of a business. They apply their skills across a wide range of industries and business functions, or as a business owner (sole trader/contractor). The skills required for these roles may include, but are not restricted to:
- • advanced data management information: creating, designing and monitoring complex systems that store data, and optimising organisational knowledge management
- • cyber security: protecting sensitive data and information through security architecture, and developing disaster recovery and contingency plans
- • full stack web development: building advanced user interfaces, developing representational state transfer application program interfaces (REST APIs) and designing user experience solutions
- • further programming: applying advanced ICT languages to maintain security and manage data
- • IT strategy and organisational development: managing and communicating strategic ICT business solutions

PSW Opportunity
Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
There is no pre-requisites or specific entry requirement for this qualification. This course is available to all international students and Strathfield College requires that students are able to provide evidence that they:
• Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent or the successful completion of at least General English Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes
• Have a suitable level of language, literacy and numeracy to complete course requirements with or without additional support that Strathfield College is able to provide.
• Have successfully completed Australian year 10 or equivalent.
• Are at least at age of 18 on the date of course commencement.
• Must NOT be colour blind.
• Please Note: All the students commencing this course are required to complete LLN test on the orientation day to assist Strathfield College to identify student’s needs for additional support during their study with Strathfield College.
