Language and Intercultural Relations - Bachelor of Arts (Honours)

This unique program will teach you intercultural empathy, and help you understand and facilitate communication between cultures. The linguistic fluency and cultural intelligence you gain will prepare you to tackle challenges in varied sectors.
All students major in either French or Spanish.
You can also choose one of three optional concentrations:
- Language and Cognition
- Translation
- Organizational Behaviour
In addition to your second language, you’ll graduate with competencies in research, analysis, leadership, and problem-solving, all of which are needed to enter and thrive in a global market and workforce.

If your program was less than 8 months
- You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.
If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.
For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.
If your program was 2 years or more
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.
If you completed more than 1 program
- You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.
Each of the programs you completed -
- must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.
Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
- A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
