Memorial’s bachelor of commerce (B.Comm.) is ideal for students who want to develop the expertise required for a career in business while customizing the pace and location of their studies.

To join our B.Comm. program, you must first be enrolled in Business One. Listen to Jake, a business student, as he guides you through the application process for Business One. The B.Comm. is a competitive-entry program. Meeting the minimum admission requirements doesn’t guarantee you’ll be accepted.
Students may apply for entry into the B.Comm. program after completing Business One. They must have an overall average of 65 per cent on the 30 credit hours (10 courses) in Business One, and a cumulative overall average of 60 per cent. A minimum of 15 credit hours must be completed at Memorial.

If your program was less than 8 months
- You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.
If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.
For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.
If your program was 2 years or more
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.
If you completed more than 1 program
- You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.
Each of the programs you completed -
- must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Diplomas in engineering, technology or other specializations are not accepted in lieu of a 12th level certificate.
- Students who are missing an eligible course in one of subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 may be used to substitute the missing course.
- Calculus is a required course in first year for business/commerce (St. John's campus only) and science programs at Memorial. To ensure students are prepared for entry into their chosen program of study, 12th level pre-calculus mathematics is normally required for admission to these programs.
- The mathematics requirement may also be met through the College Board SAT. A minimum Math Test score of 500 is required for general admission; 550 is recommended for business/commerce and science programs as noted above.
