Sports Media, BS
The Bachelor of Science in Sports Media is a 72-credit major combining theory and practice across various sports media coursework. Students must complete required core coursework in studies, writing, production, and performance before choosing different electives in these areas. Students must also take at least one internship to complete their program requirements.
A grade of C- or better is required for all courses in the major; students may not take a course for which they receive less than a C- in a pre-requisite; any given course can only satisfy a single category; no more than six s.h. of internship credits, overall (regardless of program affiliation), can count for the major.
BS Sports Media students must take 72 Liberal Arts credits. Completing required Liberal Arts classes outside and inside the major will not be sufficient to reach that minimum amount. Additional Liberal Arts classes will need to be taken. Close monitoring is required to ensure this graduation requirement is met.
Based on 30 credits of general requirements and 72 credits in the major, 22 credits are available as free electives. This allows for taking an optional non-LHSC minor if a student chooses. A minor can be Liberal Arts-based or not, including Zarb School of Business minors such as Marketing. Minors in LHSC are not allowed.
