B.S. to M.S. in Mechanical Engineering

Our undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program grounds you in the design and development of mechanical systems, structures, thermo-fluid systems, aerospace systems, advanced transportation, and energy systems. PSW Opportunity

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • you must have satisfactorily completed high school (secondary school) with at least a B average or a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale. There are specific minimum academic or examination requirements for citizens of many individual nations.+
  • International applicants are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores for admission for most programs. They are required to submit test scores for Mechanical Engineering, B.S. and Nursing, B.S. International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo results.  Students applying through the test-optional admission process may still submit SAT or ACT scores as evidence of English proficiency only. 

The following are the minimum scores required for full admission to New York Tech degree programs:

  • IELTS score: 6.0
  • TOEFL (iBT) score: 79
  • Pearson PTE score: 53
  • Duolingo English Test score: 105
  • IB English Literature A HL (Higher Level): 4
  • IB English Language and Literature A HL (Higher Level): 4
