Bachelor in Nursing: R.N. to B.S.N.

An R.N. to B.S.N. program allows registered nurses to upgrade their degrees and training to the industry-standard Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As an R.N. to B.S.N. student, you'll learn much more than clinical care. You'll gain enhanced communication, critical thinking and leadership skills.

Research by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing shows that higher nursing education makes a major difference in clinical outcomes. With a B.S.N. you'll have the training to offer quality patient care and make skilled diagnoses.

The B.S.N. has become the required or preferred degree in many hospitals and medical facilities. If you plan to move into administration or teaching, a B.S.N. or higher is essential. Four of the highest paying nursing jobs – nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, nurse anesthetist and clinical nurse specialist – require a B.S.N.

PSW Opportunity

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

You will be considered for admission to CSUN as an international freshman if you meet the following requirements:

You have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale or an average of "B" grades on an "A - F" letter grading scale. (CSUN will convert your international GPA when you apply for admission.)
Cambridge C1 Advanced English (formerly CAE) = 172

DET – Duolingo English Test = 95

IELTS Academic - International English Language Test System = 7.0

iTEP Academic - International Test of English Proficiency = 3.8

PTE Academic - Pearson Test of English = 50

TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language = Internet Based score: 61, Paper-based score: 500
