Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (U-Bridge)
The English for Academic Purposes program is designed for student success. You will develop language, cultural and academic skills that will give you an advantage in your university studies, your career and your life.
The English for Academic Purposes program has four levels. Each level is designed to build on existing skills and teach new language specifically to help you prepare for university.
The upper levels of the English for Academic Purposes program are designed to give you an academic advantage when you begin your university degree. This program is about more than learning English. It will prepare you linguistically, academically and culturally to succeed.

Levels
The EAP program has four levels, each designed to build on existing skills and teach new language.
Level 1: Intro and Level 2: Intermediate
In these levels, you will build a strong foundation based on the English skills you already have.
Level 3: Academic Preparation
In Level 3, you will learn key language skills important for any student:
how to read and understand academic articles
how to listen to lectures and take notes efficiently
how to write essays and exams
how to give presentations effectively
Level 4: Academic Success
The final level of the program offers you all the English language skills development you need to transition into any post-secondary pathway you choose.
In Academic Success classes, you will engage in a variety of projects that simulate the expectations of independent study in regular academic classes. You will use authentic academic material to practice and improve your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Eligibility for Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP):
Graduated from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Desire to stay in Canada temporarily for work.
Important Note:
Graduating from a DLI doesn't automatically qualify you for a PGWP.
Validity of PGWP:
Depends on the length of the study program or the expiry date of your passport, whichever comes first.
Duration of PGWP Based on Study Program Length:
Less than 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials): Not eligible for PGWP.
At least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials), but less than 2 years: PGWP may be granted for the same length as the study program (e.g., a 9-month program results in a 9-month PGWP).
2 years or more: PGWP may be valid for 3 years.
Completion of Multiple Programs:
PGWP may combine the lengths of each program if:
Each program is PGWP eligible.
Each program is at least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials) in length.
Important Restriction:
You cannot obtain a PGWP if you already had one after completing an earlier program of study.
