Master of Special and Inclusive Education

The program offers educators and other professionals working in inclusive education or disability sectors, the opportunity to develop specialised skills and advanced knowledge to support children and adolescents with additional needs. The program focuses your skills and builds your qualifications, knowledge and understanding to teach and support students in special or inclusive settings.
The program is suitable for regular teachers working within inclusive contexts and also for teachers who wish to gain additional qualifications with a view to employment as a special education teacher. The program will enable qualified allied health professionals to understand and utilise educational strategies to assist children and adolescents with additional needs.
Combining the latest research with practical coursework will ensure you are equipped to implement a range of evidence-based approaches and strategies to address student needs and promote students’ learning and social functioning. The program provides theoretical and practical skills so you can cultivate a rich learning environment for students facing unique challenges, supported by your specialised skills in diversity programming and adjusted learning activities which support individual students.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate Admissions: Students are required to have a completed bachelor degree in a relevant discipline.
Gap year Admissions: Students are required to submit a completed high school transcript to be assessed on a case by case basis.
