Employability
Building service engineers help buildings to deliver on their potential. They work with architects and construction engineers to produce buildings that offer the functionality and comfort we expect, with the minimum impact on our environment. They design the lighting appropriate for the space, the heating, cooling, ventilation and all systems that ensure comfort, health and safety in all types of buildings, residential, commercial and industrial.

This course will prepare you for a career in the building services engineering industry in areas such as: design and build, contracting, consultancy, energy management, and facilities management.

BEng degrees include additional science and maths; many recruiters look favourably on BEng graduates for this reason. If you combine your BEng (Hons) Building Services Engineering with an accredited Masters, you can achieve Chartered Engineer status.

• 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
• 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

• A Level BBC or;
• BTEC National Diploma DDM or;
• Access to Engineering qualifications with 15 Distinctions and 30 Merits or;
• Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 128 UCAS points
• Level 3 qualifications must include Maths and Physics
• Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
• We welcome qualifications from around the world. English language qualifications for international students: IELTS score of 6.0 or Cambridge Proficiency or Advanced Grade C.

INDIA

• Indian Standard XII: a minimum average of 55-65% or higher (depending on exam board and LSBU course applied for)
• 3 passes at GCE A-Level (required grades dependant on LSBU course applied for)
• International Baccalaureate Diploma: 24 points or higher
• Accredited UK Foundation programme: minimum 55-60% or higher
• Accredited Polytechnic/College Diploma (2 - 3 years duration) 58% or higher

NEPAL

• Nepal Higher Secondary Education Certificate: 60% or higher
• 3 passes at GCE A Level: minimum grades depend on LSBU course applied for
• International Baccalaureate Diploma: 24 points or higher
• Accredited UK Foundation programme: 55-60% or higher
• Accredited UK National Diploma: Upper or Lower Credit
• Diploma from Tribhuvan University of 3 years duration: 50% or higher

Possible advanced entry or top-up

• Accredited UK Higher National Diploma (Possible second year or top-up entry): Upper or Lower Credit

BANGLADESH

• Bangladesh Higher Secondary Certificate: 80%/CGPA 4.5/5.0 or higher
• 3 passes at GCE A-Level (required grades dependant on LSBU course applied for)
• International Baccalaureate Diploma: 24 points or higher
• Accredited UK Foundation programme: minimum 55-60% or higher
• Accredited UK National Diploma (Upper or Lower Credit)

Possible advanced entry or top-up

• Accredited UK Higher National Diploma (Possible second year or top-up entry): Upper or Lower Credit

• Accredited UK National Diploma: Upper or Lower Credit
