Graduates of the programme will typically take up opportunities with civil engineering contractors, consulting engineering practices, surveying practices and government departments. The additional accreditation by the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors significantly broadens the career base.

Work placement / study abroad
On the course the placement is mandatory (Year 3) and is a key part of the educational journey for our students. The year of industrial experience can be local to Northern Ireland, UK based and overseas. This year allows student to take the materials gleaned in Years 1 & 2 and to apply them in practise either in design or construction roles. Experience has shown that there is a strong corralation between placement and graduate opportunities.

• 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
• 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Each programme will have slightly different requirements, both in terms of overall points and certain subjects, so please check the relevant subject in the undergraduate on-line prospectus.

Normally Ulster University welcomes applications from students with:

All Indian Standard XII (Central Boards or a State Board) with an overall average of 60% to include 50% or above in 5 subjects Where a course has subject-specific requirements 60% will be required in each of these subjects.

OR

3 year Diploma in an engineering or technology subject from a State Board of Technical Education with overall 60% (Accredited by ACITE)

Usually the minimum English language entry requirement is IELTS (academic) of 6.0 (with no band score of less than 5.5).

Some of our courses ask for a higher score.

If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
