Institute of Acoustics Certificate of Competence
The Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement (CCENM) is designed for professionals working in acoustics who are looking for further their specialist skills, including environmental health officers, sound engineers and event managers.
This five-day course seeks to provide delegates with a basic knowledge of the methodology of environmental noise measurement, including the use and accuracy requirements of sound level meters and analysers. You'll become aware of the significance of measurement data against the framework of standards and legislation for environmental noise.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
In principle, the course is open to anybody who will benefit from it and is well motivated. However it is expected students to be literate and numerate to be able to carry out basic scientific calculations using a GCSE-level scientific calculator. Please note we require a minimum of GCSE A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent) for entry onto this course.
The course is generally considered by past students as intense and demanding, although highly rewarding and extremely valuable. Self-study and revision of material covered is needed on going basis along the course to complete the course successfully.
