Bachelor of Automotive Engineering

Automotive engineering uses methods of mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, electric and electronic engineering and software engineering. The aim of the program is designing automotive systems with an interdisciplinary knowledge of engineering that deals with the automotive sector and its problems. The application areas of automotive engineering are quite wide such as design, automotive production design, assembly, robotic systems and so on. The aim is to inform the engineers who are studying automotive engineering about automotive technologies, production processes and materials, available and alternative fuels, safety systems, and the interaction of automotive technologies and the environment. Graduates from the automotive engineering program have a chance to find a job related to the above topics.

An academic program has been planned to offer a challenging, yet basic education to cater to various needs. It is designed to provide a knowledge of the basic physical sciences in the first year and an engineering science program in the second year. The basics of the automotive engineering discipline are introduced in the third year. Electives in the fourth year give students the flexibility to concentrate on areas of specialization. The study program culminates in a capstone design project which offers the opportunity to solve real-world problems in a multi-disciplinary setting. In addition to 138 credit hours of formal course work, two industrial training sessions with a total duration of 40 days are required to satisfy the BS requirement.
