Bachelors of Humanities and Social Sciences

As its name indicates, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences brings together perspectives from the social sciences, humanities, philosophy and the arts. In our day, boundaries between professional fields and occupations are blurring and there is demand for multiplicity in intellectual perspective in all fields. As "generalists" equipped with a broad-based training, graduates of this program can draw on a vision shaped by multi-faceted interpretations of global issues and processes to provide rapid and efficient solutions. With its innovative approach to education, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was launched to address the needs of the public and private sector.

The Department's goal is to raise graduates who are broadly trained in the social sciences and humanities, engineering, science and technology, philosophy, art history and cultural studies who are capable of bridging of disciplinary boundaries in their inquiry for solutions to problems. Students in Turkey are admitted into the program with university exam scores in the Turkish-Mathematics category. After the second year of studies, enrolled students choose between two branches: Science Technology and Society and Art, Culture and Society.
