Our Master programme in Professional Accounting is a conversion Masters that gives you the opportunity to change your career if you don’t have an accounting background. It provides an advanced understanding of accounting principles and practise and combines this with practical work experience.
This programme provides you with the academic requirements for membership of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and the Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA Australia); the pathway for those who want to become registered chartered accountants.

PSW Opportunity
- During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
- After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
- After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
You must have completed at least one of the following:
- A recognised bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline with merit achievement deemed to be a grade average of B- or higher; or
- A professional qualification in a relevant discipline recognised as being equivalent to merit achievement in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
And English entry requirements;
If English is not your first language, you will also need at least one of the following qualifications:
- Evidence of an IELTS (Academic) band score of at least 6.5 with no band score lower than 6
- University Entrance Literacy: 8 credits at Level 2 or above in English or M?ori (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or
- Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students.
