BA (Hons) Business Administration

This course is ideal if you want a degree that can lead to a wide range of business careers. It offers a creative mix of academic study, skills development, and practical training, giving you the best possible platform for your career. You’ll learn principles of accounting, economics, and marketing, and choose from a variety of other subject options. Strong partnerships with industry ensure our curriculum is up to date and meets business needs. Add a language and take the opportunity to study abroad. This course is aligned to several professional bodies for students to work towards achieving professional recognition.

You can also study a language with this course. You can be awarded the degree ‘with language’ in the title if you choose to study a foreign language in all years of study.

Study abroad

Today’s businesses operate in an increasingly global market. Even those based purely here in the UK are influenced by international trends and events. At Hertfordshire, our BA Business Administration is taught by a respected academic team with extensive international experience, and their insights into global business practices impact every part of the course. You’ll have the opportunity to add an even deeper international dimension to your BA by choosing optional language modules or studying abroad between your Second and Final Years in Europe, North America or Asia.

Work placement

Practical experience can really make your CV stand out to potential employers and our BA Business Administration gives you the option of adding a year-long work placement to your degree. You can either spend 12 months working for your placement company, or six months working and six months studying abroad at one of our partner universities. While you’re working, you’ll be paid by your employer.

Campus Information

de Havilland Campus (Hatfield)

The 拢120-million de Havilland campus, which was built by Carillion, opened in September 2003 and is situated within 15 minutes walk of College Lane, and is built on a former British Aerospace site.This campus also houses its own Learning Resource Centre, a combined library and computer centre.[Hertfordshire Sports Village which includes a gym, swimming pool, squash courts is also on this site. The large Weston Auditiorium is present on the de Havilland campus, adjacent to the Learn Resource Centre. The auditorium has a capacity of 450 and can host talks both by university lectures for students and for guest lecturers for guests and students, music and films events and dance events.The campus also contains 11 halls of residence;

PSW Opportunity

2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

UCAS Points

A Level

BCC - Requires Maths A level. Other A Levels may come from a selection of either Engineering or Technology, Science, Design, Computing, or Business related subjects. General studies/critical thinking not accepted.

BTEC

DMM - Requires Extended Diploma in Engineering (DMM) to include Distinction in Further Maths

GCSE: Grade 4/C in English, Mathematics, and Science.

Foundation

Completion of the Standard XII Certificate with 50% or above
IELTS 4.5 with no less than 4.0 in any band

Undergraduate (year 1)

Completion of the Standard XII Certificate with 60-70% depending on points tariff required by the UH course. Some courses may require specific subjects
IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band for standard courses – some courses require higher
Standard XII English with 65% will also be accepted

Undergraduate (year 2/3)

Depending on qualifications and course - usually require 2/3 year Diploma post-Standard XII to be considered
IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band for standard courses – some courses require higher
