Film Studies BA(Hons)
As an art form, film has the power to entertain, upset, inspire, shock, and educate. This course invites you to learn how film, television and other screen entertainment shape (and are shaped by) the world we live in, and equips you with the tools you need to work in exciting, creative, demanding jobs.
The course places a particular emphasis on contemporary film and television – an increasingly global industry in which content creators are constantly adapting to rapid technological, economic and cultural change.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
BBC at A Level
112 UCAS tariff points from a combination of Level 3 qualifications
DMM in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma
Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits at Merit or above
112 UCAS tariff points from International Baccalaureate qualifications.
Applicants with prior learning or prior experiential learning will be considered individually by the School of Music, Humanities and Media Accreditation and Validation Panel, to assess whether it is appropriate to grant general or specific credit towards the course.
Applications from international students will be considered on an individual basis, and with advice from the University's International Office.
If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
