Associate Degree in Construction Safety Technology
A solid background in construction safety will make you a valuable member of the construction site team. Your understanding of OSHA requirements and industry best practices will make the project as efficient as possible through the control of hazards and prevention of injuries. Your training includes a wide variety of industrial and construction safety topics including OSHA Industrial and Manufacturing standards, fall protection, trenching and excavation, material handling, incident investigations and safety management techniques. Graduates will find jobs with general and specialty contractors such as mechanical and electrical contractors.

Skills Assessment
An academic skills assessment is required for admission into this program or the following: High School GPA of 2.75 or higher (last 10 years) OR provide completion of associate’s or higher degree OR; 165 or higher on your 2014 series GED tests OR; ACT OR SAT OR Accuplacer OR Companion OR Compass (last 3 years) to waive to the general education level; The cost of the Accuplacer assessment is $15
Provide TOEFL scores. TOEFL scores are NOT needed if enrolling into the Intensive English Program.
- Minimum TOEFL scores needed for entering an Associate in Applied Science Degree Program:
- 520 on the paper-based test
- 190 on the computer-based test
- 68 on Internet-based test
- Non-native English speakers who meet the minimum TOEFL requirements should enroll in ‘Bridge’ courses during the first
semester at Fox Valley Technical College. ‘Bridge’ courses receive additional assistance from an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor and are designed for students transitioning from ESL to non-ESL courses
