Diploma of Hospitality Management
The CTI Diploma of Hospitality Management provides you with the skills and knowledge to work in all areas of the hospitality industry as a manager including restaurants, hotels, motels, café and coffee shops. You will work independently as well as have responsibility for managing a team and make a range of operational decisions.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.
The course runs over 52 weeks with 25 hours per week. Students who successfully complete this course may continue with further study at Diploma or Advanced Diploma level at CTI.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
There are no entry requirements for the individual units of competencies that make up this qualification, however CTI have the following entry requirements specific:
- English level evidence (Upper Intermediate level / IELTS 5.5 / PTE equivalent)
- 18 years and above with a High School Certificate (Year 12)
- Physically capability for manual handling activities
- A verified copy of qualifications & transcripts is required to accompany your application
