INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION – TEACHING
This course adopts an integrated teaching and learning approaches that allow students to engage in purposeful, relevant learning where students will learn new, innovative ways of teaching and learning. They will take a creative approach to extend children’s learning in problem-solving and critical thinking skills that build language, numeracy and scientific understanding. Students will also learn strategies about how to support and manage positive and consistent behaviour in a multicultural setting.
Course Objectives
At the end of the programme, students are able to apply new, innovative ways to:
- plan, implement and evaluate a developmentally appropriate and stimulating multicultural education curriculum for young children;
- design a developmentally appropriate and stimulating environment to support the multicultural education curriculum for young children;
- plan, implement and evaluate a developmentally appropriate and stimulating ICT curriculum for young children;
- design a developmentally appropriate and stimulating environment to support the ICT curriculum for young children;
- incorporate good communication, IT and teambuilding skills in their teaching and learning;

PSW Opportunity
- The International Students studying in certain institutions in Singapore are allowed to work part time for 16 hours per week as mentioned on the Ministry of Manpower website of Singapore.
- Students who have studied in the institutions mentioned on the Ministry of Manpower website of Singapore are allowed to apply for a Long Term Visitor Pass.
- They are allowed to look for a job during this time period.This is for 12 months.If the students get a job during this time period, the employer may sponsor for an Employment pass.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be at least 17 years of age at the time of application.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of formal education and passed in equivalence of GCE ‘O’ Level Credits in 3 different subjects including a credit of at least C6 in English Language or its equivalent.
- Candidates who do not have the required English proficiency document may take the NIM English Placement Test and/or do an interview.
