Master of Professional Engineering

This course is a professionally accredited engineering degree for students who have completed undergraduate studies in engineering. You'll specialise in a program of engineering and undertake advanced engineering technical units, professional units, a design and a research project, and undertake an eight to 12-week professional practicum. Beyond practice as a professional engineer, you'll pursue further research studies in engineering, as well as seek employment in a wide range of related industries. Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—
(a) a UWA bachelor's degree with a major in Engineering Science1 or
(b) a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and
(i) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent; and
(ii) prior studies in engineering, physics or mathematics;
or
(c) completed units in the Master of Professional Engineering Preliminary course at UWA as prescribed by the Faculty;
or
(d) completed a UWA Diploma in Science with a major in Engineering Science1
1 Students are required to achieve a course weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent in their bachelor's degree or a weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent in the Level 3 units of the Engineering Science major.
