Education BA (Hons)

This multi-disciplinary course aims to deepen and extend your knowledge of concepts and theoretical frameworks central to  understanding education. The course considers educational theory, policy and practice, both UK based and international.

The course provides opportunities for you to develop your individual interests in education that may align to your future career intentions. Many students use the course as a pathway to a future career in education, either as a qualified teacher or in support roles.

The degree is designed to give you a solid foundation in the history, sociology, psychology and philosophy of education, as well as an understanding of education in modern society and the current debates and issues surrounding the subject.

The Bedford campus has lots of green open spaces while being very close to Bedford town centre and local amenities. It boasts our Gateway building, a three-storey building that offers high-quality teaching spaces, informal learning spaces, lecture theatres and a new student services centre.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

The normal entry requirements for postgraduate degrees are a good honours degree in an appropriate subject from a recognised university.

We may also consider candidates with other relevant qualifications and individuals with substantial related work experience.

Applicants who not have English as a first language will be required to demonstrate they have the correct level of English for their course.
