Our secondary education degrees combine university study with practical experience. You'll explore how to teach and how people learn, study topics from 2 teaching areas, then apply your knowledge in the classroom.
Throughout your program you’ll be immersed in hands-on workshops, school visits and supervised placements, and gain a strong understanding of day-to-day life in a secondary school.
To make sure you get both the teaching skills and the specialist subject knowledge you need to become an expert teacher, you will study the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) as a dual degree with one of the following:

- Bachelor of Business Management

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- All international applicants need to have successfully completed Queensland Year 12 (or an equivalent qualification) and meet the minimum entry score for this program.
Prerequisites
Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent):
- General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); and
- one of General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C).
- Applicants must also satisfy all entry requirements for the other component of the dual degree (refer to relevant dual program - Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Management, Bachelor of Mathematics, Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Science).
