Job Opportunity Potential
Explore Your Vocation
Career Services actively supports the vocational and career development of our students and alumni (and proudly serves Flyers from their date of admission until the date of their retirement). The University of Dayton defines vocation as “Answering a call to discover one’s unique gifts and employ them in service for the common good in ways that are personally satisfying and bring meaning to one’s life.”
There are many aspects to an individual’s vocation, and vocation develops throughout life. Career and employment opportunities are an important expression of one’s vocation, although work does not define vocation in a singular manner. Vocation is also expressed through personal relationships, family connections, volunteer opportunities, and leadership roles.
Flyer First Destination Survey Statistics
Each semester the office of Career Services surveys our graduating students to learn their first destinations after leaving the University of Dayton.
The reports below present the data for each academic year. Summary reports highlight first destination percentages and some employment and educational destinations. The full reports include responses to all survey questions and also include average salaries by major.
A Campus Job is More Than Just a Paycheck. It's One Step Closer to Your Career.
All University of Dayton students, regardless of financial need, may apply for employment opportunities on campus. Positions are available in many departments and the hourly rate is based on experience and job description.
Federal Work Study (FWS) is awarded to undergraduates based on FAFSA results. Any on-campus position (except those at the Research Institute) is eligible to be set up as FWS. FWS Community Partner positions are also available off-campus. This unique opportunity allows FWS eligible students to work off-campus with local organizations to improve the quality of life for members of the Dayton community.
To apply for any student positions, login to your Handshake account. After you create your profile and upload a resume, you can apply for positions by clicking on Jobs and then clicking On Campus. If you are Federal Work Study eligible, you will also see the FWS Community Partner positions that are located off-campus. For more information, visit the Student/Alumni Help Center.
All student employees are encouraged to read the University's Student Employee Handbook which contains valuable information regarding the policies and procedures involving campus employment.
