This course seeks to examine and act on the factors that cause poor health, as well as understanding those that create and sustain good health. You’ll work towards creating a healthier population by increasing health education, encouraging healthy practices, and influencing policy.

Work Integrated Learning is a core feature of this course and is embedded within all units, which includes assignments that replicate work in the field. Another feature of this course is the capstone experience, a 120-hour practice education placement that provides you with an opportunity to transfer your knowledge and skills to a practical setting, where you can further your learning through realistic field experience. These placements enable you to consolidate your skills under the supervision of qualified practitioners, which assists you to be work-ready after graduation.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years

MINIMUM ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- Senior Secondary Certificate of Education with unadjusted ATAR of at least 50 or equivalent, or
- Certificate IV in a related discipline, or
- Diploma in any discipline or 50% completion of Diploma in a related discipline, or
- Successful completion of at least two relevant Deakin University units.
If you're currently studying Year 12, or completed Year 12 in the last two years, you will need to meet all the following criteria to be considered for admission to this degree:

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English EAL (English as an Additional Language) or at least 25 in English other than EAL
