The past year has been productive for the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT).  As 2022 draws to a close, we are reflecting on some of our achievements and plans for 2023 and beyond. 

The year 2022 was indeed special, despite some of the challenges that the previous year presented. With the global COVID-19 pandemic restrictions finally eased, a shared sense of hope, possibility, and new beginnings came. 

There’s no denying that the world has changed on many fronts — including how we socialize, work, and even study. As a demonstration of the sheer resilience and adaptability of the human spirit, many of us came up with new and creative ways of pushing on with work and life as usual. And this was no different for EIT, our students, and our staff. 

Even at the tail-end of 2021, our collective determination had already yielded a notable accolade as EIT snagged the Australian International Education and Training gong at the Australian Export Awards. None of this would have been possible without our established online learning platform, passionate staff, and outstanding students in Australia and worldwide.  

We were delighted to once again rate so highly on the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (a suite of Australian government-endorsed surveys for higher education). Out of 55 Australian engineering schools, EIT topped the undergraduate ‘Quality of Educational Experience’ and was ranked second for the post-graduate experience. For ‘Student Support,’ EIT came second overall and was ranked third for teaching quality.
