Bachelor in Political Science
As a student in Duquesne’s Department of Political Science, you’ll encounter complex theories, ideas and historical events that require critical thinking and analysis, while building a deep understanding of how society functions, how governments operate and how policies are made.
You’ll study topics such as international relations, political theory, American government, comparative politics and public policy, interrogating a variety of texts, attending vibrant lectures, participating in debates and conducting research. Based on Duquesne’s liberal arts foundation, our challenging curriculum is designed to help you develop strong critical thinking, communication and research skills, all highly valuable in a range of careers.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
India
You are required to send all of your university transcripts (grade reports) with your application. Each program evaluates your university performance differently, but most will require that you submit a GRE or GMAT score and a TOEFL score in some cases.
Students with the following minimum scores will begin full-time academic study upon arrival:

Duolingo English Test 105 (only accepted for some academic programs)
PTE Academic 48 (only accepted for some academic programs)
A score of 540 or higher on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section (only accepted for some academic programs)
